Job Overview and Requirements: KAEE is seeking an enthusiastic and creative storyteller with a passion for our mission and a desire to help us reach new audiences and grow as an organization for a 6 month grant-funded, contract position, with the possibility of extension if funding allows. Summary of Essential Job Functions
Craft compelling communications through blog posts, press releases, and email communications.
Create messaging kits tailored for various audiences for our recent 8-state landscape analysis of environmental education in the southeast.
Design graphics and materials to coordinate with messaging kits and other communications related to KAEE events.
Coordinate the outreach and publicity of KAEE programs and events.Â
Advance strategies to support the ongoing growth and engagement of KAEE’s educator network.
Provide up-to-date content for websites, LISTSERVs, and social networking sites.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Passion for the mission of the organization. Experience working with diverse audiences. Compelling storyteller with excellent spelling, grammar, typing, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work well remotely and as part of a team. Strong networking and interpersonal skills. Proficient in the use of Google Suite or the ability to pick up new programs easily. Experience and proficiency in using databases, websites, and social media. Background or experience in education, communications, journalism, or public relations is preferred but not required.Â
Compensation
Compensation: This is an hourly, contract position for around 15 hours per week compensated at $25/hour. This is a work-from-home position, although travel to occasional meetings may be required. Reimbursement will be given for costs incurred during work-related travel.Â
