Job Description
Red Oaks Forest School is seeking an enthusiastic, part-time Nature-Based Educator to lead a weekly outdoor STEAM class at our Frankfort, KY location. The ideal candidate is passionate about environmental education and skilled in engaging learners through exploration, education, and play. As a Nature-Based Educator, you will facilitate nature-focused STEAM activities, guide children in safe outdoor discovery, and help nurture students' connection to the natural world.
Requirements
Required:
- Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or outdoor setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young learners.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain; Red Oaks will provide training).
- A commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and inclusive learning.
- Organization skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of local ecology, flora, and fauna.
- Spanish speaker.
Compensation
$18/hr
