We are currently seeking a full-time Parks Program Services Supervisor to work in the Recreation at Pine Mountain State Resort Park.


Pine Mountain is located 15 miles from Cumberland Gap National Park and the oldest state park in Kentucky. We are comprised of a hotel and lodge, cabins, cottages’, restaurant, convention center, 18-hole golf course, pool, natural amphitheater, picnic shelters, nature center and hiking trails.


Primary duties of the Parks Program Services Supervisor Position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises, researches, plans, coordinates and executes recreational and interpretive programs.

  • Plans, assigns and supervises the work of staff and lifeguards.

  • Prepares and executes recreational programs and materials.

  • Promotes programs through educational presentations.

  • Inspects and maintains hiking trails and recreational equipment.

  • Schedules, promotes and makes the necessary arrangements for live entertainment

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in recreation, outdoor recreation, park resource interpretation, physical education, history, environmental education, biology, forestry, botany, zoology, anthropology, archaeology, area studies, cultural studies, art history, geography, parks and recreation management or administration, sociology, paleoanthropology or a closely related field.


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years experience as a park naturalist, park interpreter, environmental educator, conservation educator, in planned outdoor recreation, or physical education.


Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in recreation, park resource interpretation, physical education, history, environmental education, biology, forestry, botany, zoology, anthropology, archaeology, area studies, cultural studies, art history, geography, parks and recreation management or administration, sociology, paleoanthropology or a closely related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.


Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Related experience as a park naturalist, park interpreter, environmental educator, conservation educator, in planned outdoor recreation or physical education, recreation, park resource interpretation, history, environmental education, biology, forestry, botany, zoology, anthropology, archaeology, area studies, cultural studies, art history, geography, parks and recreation management or administration, sociology, paleoanthropology or a closely related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Compensation

$19.56 - $29.34 Hourly
