This course is designed to acquaint early childhood educators with early learning standards and explore how they align with and inform early childhood environmental education materials and practices.

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of early learning standards and their role in early childhood education

  • Differentiate between programmatic, curricular, and child-centered Early Learning Standards

  • Demonstrate understanding of the development, purpose, and framework of Project WET’s Getting Little Feet Wet (GLFW) Early Childhood Education Guide

  • Evaluate Early Childhood Environmental Education (ECEE) activities and identify learning standards that are addressed

  • Evaluate early childhood activities and materials to determine if they meet ECE/ECEE guidelines and standards
