Core Curriculum Training
Join us for a training in three award-winning environmental education curriculum programs during this pre-conference workshop at Berea College Forestry Outreach Center on Tuesday, November 29, from 9am - 4pm ET. (Although this is being offered as a pre-conference workshop, you do not have to attend conference in order to participate. Though we would love for you to!) Participants who complete the training and required pre/post work will receive physical copies of the three curriculum guides.

Supplement Curriculum Training
New to our workshop lineup, is the Supplemental Curriculum Program Training. You might be familiar with Project WET and Project WILD but each of these programs offer more than just their flagship curriculum guides. KAEE Homegrown Cookout
Come celebrate with friends old and new at Homegrown Hideaways just outside of Berea! We’ll have a bonfire and cookout at this sustainable farm nestled in the Appalachian foothills. Gather with friends, family and colleagues to enjoy a relaxing evening with short hikes through the woods and s’mores. Bring musical instruments, camp chairs, and stories to share!

10:00 am - 12:00 pm On this field trip, you will explore Taylor Fork Ecological Area and learn about its natural history and ecology. You'll also learn how faculty use the site as an outdoor classroom for environmental and wildlife education for university students and the public. This field tour will involve moderately strenuous walking of up to 2 miles across hilly terrain in potentially cold weather. There is a porta-potty on site, but no other amenities.

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Get a behind-the-scenes tour of Richmond’s micro-brewery, Dreaming Creek Brewery. You’ll learn about the science, sustainability, and hard work that go into brewing craft beer. The Arts & Gardens of Wolf Gap Holler 9:30 am - 12:00 pm Come to the scenic Wolf Gap holler and experience two home-grown family businesses, Tater Knob Pottery and Wolf Gap Gardens. At Tater Knob, you will see a demonstration of wheel-thrown pottery made from Kentucky red clay. The experienced potters draw their inspiration from the peaceful setting and natural beauty to create unique, functional pottery. Then, you can walk right across the road and take a short tour of Wolf Gap Gardens.
