
Job Description
McConnell Springs Park is a 26-acre natural and historical park in the city of Lexington functioning as a protected sanctuary for local hydrology, plants, and wildlife. The site is best known for its unique karst topography, as well as being the naming site of Lexington in 1775.
This internship opportunity is offered in partnership with the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE). KAEE serves as the fiscal sponsor for the position, while the location and responsibilities are set by the host site. Funding provided by the US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service. Requirements
Be a current college or high school student (at least 18 years old)
Per federal requirements, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Attended a high school where 80% or more of students receive free/reduced lunch, or
Live in a disadvantaged community (as identified by the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool).
Interest in forestry and/or parks careers
Have your own transportation
Availability: Mid to Late-May through September, Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays 9:00 am – 5 pm.
Compensation
$15/hour

Assist in the cleanliness of Nature Center facilities
Assist with facilitating the front desk and educational programs, as needed
Assist with any jobs that help keep the operation running smoothly
Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner
