Sound Environmental Education Principles

This course is designed to provide educators with the background knowledge and skills necessary to engage communities in environmental education experiences grounded in established principles and proven practices in the field.

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe how environmental education practices can be built on interests, issues, and settings familiar to the community.

  • Explain how to facilitate broad accessibility with respect to their environmental education practices.

  • Describe appropriate instructional strategies

  • Select effective educational materials

  • Match environmental education engagement strategies to the interests and issues of your community.
