This course is designed to help educators understand academic standards from different content areas and apply those standards when planning lessons and curricula for school-age audiences.

Overview of Academic Standards
Module 2
Science Academic Standards
Modules 3 & 4
Choose two: English/Language Arts Standards, Mathematics Standards, Social Studies Standards, or Additional Standards (Art, Music, Health, and Physical Education)
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Explain the purpose of academic standards and their role within the educational system.
Describe the components of the academic standards in at least 3 different content areas (Science and your choice of English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, or Additional Standards in Visual Arts, and Health and Physical Education.
Compare and contrast national academic standards with the same state standards.
Use the academic standards to illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of environmental education.
Demonstrate how these academic standards correlate with environmental education.
