Professional Learning Leader eeCREDENTIAL

The Professional Learning Leader (PLL) eeCredential is designed to build the capacity of its participants to host high-quality environmental education (EE) workshops and equip them with the skills needed to be a leader in the field of environmental education and professional learning. With a combination of in-person training and online courses, this experience sets participants up for success in the field of environmental education.

Those who complete the PLL eeCredential will become part of KAEE’s eeFacilitator Network. eeFACILITATORS create a powerful network of educators who not only offer EE training to their community but also help to propel environmental literacy across the Commonwealth.

Consisting of one in-person workshop and three online courses, the PLL begins online with our flagship eeCOURSE: Foundations in Teaching Environmental Education. This experience is followed by an in-person experience and training in our core EE curriculum: Project Learning Tree, Project WET, and Project WILD. Participants can choose between three of our elective eeCOURSES: Appalachian Mountain Ecology, Climate Science and Communication, or Accessible by Nature. The eeCREDENTIAL finishes with an eeCOURSE focusing on how to design and facilitate high-quality workshops through our eeFACILITATOR Training.

PLL eeCREDENTIAL Requirements

Each eeCOURSE consists of 4-5 learning modules with set due dates throughout the semester and requires 12-15 hours of work to complete. Periodic Zoom sessions will be scheduled throughout the semester to encourage networking and community amongst the cohort.

eeCourses are housed and completed in our learning management system, Moodle. Participant accounts are provided. To successfully engage in all elements of the course, participants should have an active Google Account.
